Countdown to Halloween--96

So, because my car is dead, I made a skull.  I also made a nun because I had a dream last night about becoming a nun.  I was getting ready to get all dressed up in a habit and some rather hardcore black leather boots and get ready for Mass, but then I woke up.  I had ordered a bunch of beautiful wooden rosaries for the church as well.  I really have no idea what that was about.

I'm really devastated about my car.  So I'm not going to talk about it because it's too depressing.

Here are my crafts for today.  At some point I'll start doing some things that take more time and are things other than origami!  Right now I'm just too overwhelmed to do much of anything.

Countdown to Halloween--97

I am low energy today, so here's a heart to say I love Halloween!  It is a much more vibrant orange in person.

I think it might be good for me to make a list of things that I want to make for my 100 days project since sometimes I feel like I am running out of ideas, and I also have some things that I want to make that are going to take longer and so I want to make sure I get started on them.  Right now I'm still working on my test knit and that is part of why I'm not doing more complicated things.  I need to get that finished before I start any new big projects!

Countdown to Halloween--98

Well, I am in a bad mood now about politics so I almost didn't get around to making anything, but that would have put me in an even worse mood!

Here's a quick drawing to go with my mood for the day.

I'm going to my mom's house for dinner tonight...I did most of the cooking.  My mom's friend is making spinach soup and I made eggplant "fries" and a tomato pepper relish to go with them, and then I'm making a zucchini dauphinois, and I made one of those cream cheese vanilla mousse cakes.  I just made a tiny one and we'll put raspberries and blueberries on it.  All of it fits with my meal plan although I need some protein.

It's about time to put another kid to bed.

Countdown to Halloween--99

So, 99 days to go and I managed to put Doom Buggy in the shop last night.  Not a very auspicious beginning to my 100 Days of Halloween!
I drove into a flood of water and I have no idea what damage I have done...I hope she is reparable because I love my Doom Buggy!

Anyway, I was kind of at a loss as to what crafty thing to do for my second day, so I made an origami bat.  I am not very good at origami right now and this bat was difficult, and isn't perfect, but I am tired of working on it.  And, I figure I can make more bats and it will be good practice.  Eventually I hope to get good enough that I'll be able to make bat mobiles and just include bats in with other things that I sell and send out.

Countdown to Halloween--100

I'm super excited about it being 100 days until Halloween!!!  I'm going to maybe figure out a writing project and I'm also going to post something crafty every day.

Today's project is this knitted shawl I made last year.
I'm not entirely happy with this photo but I'll deal with it.  I'm also not sure I'm entirely happy with the shawl but it's still pretty.  And the yarn I used is lovely and really soft.

I'm going to figure out about the writing part of my 100 days, at which point I'm pretty sure I'll edit an update this post.

I'm excited because I got selected to be in a group I wasn't expecting to be chosen for.  Today is going to be a day of domesticity I guess because I have a lot of house work to do and I want to get things done.  I'm tired of everything being messy and I'm tired of not having clean clothes of my own.

I kind of want to move the table I use as a desk in my office to the other side of the room, and moving the storage unit that is there to where the desk is.  I'm not sure how that will work but I'm going to give it a try I think.

I sometimes wish that I didn't think things were going to turn out okay because when they don't it's frustrating and makes me unhappy.  But I still think that in the long run everything is going to be how I want it.  I don't exactly know what I'll do if that doesn't happen.

I think I'm going to have to break down and cut Max's hair because he keeps sucking on the ends and it really bothers me.

Not waiting for as many things

So I finally heard from a couple of places I was waiting to hear from, so that's making me less anxious.  I also finally got a good night's sleep, which is probably helping me out as well.

I did not eat on my new eating plan last night at all.  I don't care.  The food was totally worth it.

I think we're going to do something over here at my house for the 4th but I don't know who will be coming.  I don't think it really matters.  We'll have some good food and swim and maybe get sparklers or something like that.

It's raining here so I guess it's probably a good thing that we weren't planning on working on the labyrinth.

I think that I don't have much else going on right now.  I've been doing cross stitch instead of knitting and that's going to have to change because I really need to be knitting.  But I really need to be cross stitching too!  I think that since I'm not tired I'll be able to do more during the day today.

I'm not having the best day.  I'm trying to do my writing in the hopes that I will feel better afterwards but I'm not optimistic.

I did Nicky's at home play therapy session today so I have the recording for it for the Play Lady to see at our appointment.  He had some interesting things he did, like he said the king was using the door to the castle as a catapult and threw all this food into the castle, and then ate it all and threw up into the dump truck.  Then the garbage truck came and took it all away.

We started laying down the rope for my mom's labyrinth, so that felt like an accomplishment.  We used up the first 50 feet of rope and I'm worried there isn't enough left but I hope there is.

I'm not really overflowing with things to say so I guess this is going to be short.

My poor blog!

I feel like I have abandoned my blogs!  I've been writing, but I guess not on here or anywhere related to any of my various stand-alone blogs.

I'm still working on turning my house into a variation of a creepy Victorian museum (or as close as I can get in a 1950's boxy style home that used to be a ranch but had a second floor added at some point).

I'm currently TTC baby #4 and hoping that turns out but it's up in the air and it's hard for me to be stoic about that...but I'm trying!  I'm currently eating following the ketogenic plan.

This year's projects include finishing a test knit (which I want to be finished with by the middle of August), a cross stitched tree skirt (needs to be finished sometime in December, preferably at the beginning), and I really want to get the Kipper things all done because at this point Max is really too old for them but I want them done anyway.  I'm also going to be writing another novel and I plan to revise one of the close-to-finished ones and have it published this year.  And I have an illustration project that I'm working on but I'm not sharing details on that.

I have a few mindfulness projects in mind as well, and would ideally like to turn them into courses but I suck at marketing and it's hard for me to figure out how to get those things out there into the world, so I don't know.  But I'm going to work on it because I think that they have potential.

Daily life continues to be a time-suck, as I imagine it is for everyone.  I have my littlest in a drop-in nursery for a few hours a week, and I think that when school starts again that will be fantastic for my writing and creating of all kinds.  As it stands, I spend most of my time knitting because I can do that with distractions, which are constant.

I don't want to make it sound like daily life is a time-suck in a negative way, as I do get a lot of pleasure out of being with my kids and just being.  I just know that I have more to offer and I'd like to have time to get that going on.
